West Coast Collective is an inclusive, collaborative hub for mental health services in the Comox Valley. Our collective is comprised of independent clinicians with diverse areas of expertise who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to people of all backgrounds. Together, our clinicians offer a comprehensive range of counselling, therapy, and assessment services for individuals, couples, families, and children of all ages.

Carrie Bisson
Clinical Social Worker
Carrie Bisson is a Registered Clinical Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers. Using a variety of skills and interventions, Carrie supports clients in understanding and managing their mental health, relationships, and life stressors. Carrie brings a vibrant and collaborative approach to therapy and is trained to work with people who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, and disordered eating.

Kathi Cameron
Clinical Counsellor
Kathi Cameron is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a background in exercise science and psychology. She is a trauma therapist specializing in eating disorders, chronic pain/injury management, and human performance as it relates to sport, business, and academics. Kathi is a certified EMDR therapist and is able to prescribe physical activity for mental health. For more information or to book an appointment, please contact Kathi directly.

Dr. Sheilagh Fox
Psychologist
Dr. Sheilagh Fox (she/they) is a licensed psychologist in British Columbia. She specializes in helping people who have experienced trauma resulting from marginalization, discrimination, and other forms of oppression. In addition, she is skilled in treating people with anxiety, OCD, and ADHD.

Dr. Murray Ferguson
Psychologist
Dr. A. Murray Ferguson is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, providing clinical and forensic assessment and treatment for adults. He provides evidence-based treatment for clients with a range of difficulties, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, anger, grief and loss, and life stress. Dr. Ferguson is a registered provider with Veterans Affairs Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces and the RCMP.

Dr. Nora Hope
Psychologist
As of July 10th, 2025, Dr. Nora Hope is on maternity leave and unavailable for services until further notice. Her website (below) will be updated with further information and a return date closer to her return to work.
Dr. Nora Hope is a Registered Psychologist in B.C. Dr. Hope provides treatment to adults aged 18 and older using a compassionate and client-centred approach. Her clinical specialties include assisting people struggling with overwhelming emotions, depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm, borderline personality disorder, trauma, and substance abuse. She offers dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and evidence-based treatments for PTSD including cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE).

Jessica Lauder
Clinical Counsellor
Jessica Lauder is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, and over 18 years of clinical experience. Specializing in anxiety and trauma, Jessica works with adults & youth dealing with anxiety, depression, pre- and post-natal concerns, medical traumas and diagnoses, parenting, relationship challenges, and life transitions of all kinds. She also dedicates a portion of her practice to providing psychotherapy & clinical supervision to other therapists and healthcare practitioners. With an emphasis on attachment-based and somatic psychotherapies, Jessica offers an attuned, empathic environment and gentle treatment opportunities that allow for neurophysiological healing in a way that increases vitality, brings clarity and ease, and treats struggles at their roots.

Dr. Charlotte McGinnis
Psychologist
Dr. Charlotte McGinnis is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of BC and the College of Alberta Psychologists. She specializes in supporting children (ages 3+), adolescents, and adult clients who are experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, emotion dysregulation, and challenging life transitions. Dr. McGinnis also specializes in working with athletes who want support with performance enhancement, anxiety management, and career transitions.

Dr. Kristjan Sigurdson
Psychologist
Dr. Kristjan Sigurdson is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia. He was trained as a scientist-practitioner with a generalist, rural focus, and he utilizes evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health conditions for adolescents and adults. Dr. Sigurdson is a registered provider with Veterans Affairs Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the RCMP. He is offering in-person appointments in Comox.

Andrew Sumner
Clinical Counsellor
Andrew is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology. His compassionate, client-centred approach promotes a return to wellness & healthy emotional function. Andrew strives to set a warm, collaborative tone with each of his clients. He provides evidence-based treatment for a range of difficulties; including anxiety, stress, depression, grief/loss, and challenging life transitions. Andrew also has over 20 years of clinical experience in chronic pain management. Andrew offers in-person appointments in Comox, as well as online appointments.

Mandy Thiessen
Clinical Counsellor
Mandy is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Her fundamental relational style is backed by decades of extensive research and proven to help clients effect change in their lives. In addition to working with individual adults, she is passionate about helping relationships thrive through fostering better communication and empathy skills.

Dr. Carmen Thompson
Psychologist
Dr. Carmen Thompson is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia and Alberta. She provides psychological services to adults, adolescents, and couples with a variety of concerns, including stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and return to work after injury or illness. Dr. Thompson works closely with clients to develop goals and treatment plans that are personally meaningful and evidence-based. Her treatment approaches include: EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, and systemic therapies.

Dr. Kristin Weinzierl
Psychologist
Dr. Kristin is a Registered Psychologist who works specifically with children, adolescents, and their parents. Currently, she is offering psycho-educational assessment services for a small number of children and teens. Dr. Kristin uses evidence-based approaches and prioritizes providing families with a roadmap for intervention that is designed to help children build on existing skills and overcome barriers to learning.

Dr. Sonya Vellet
Psychologist
Dr. Vellet is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC #2113), formerly the College of Psychologists of BC. She has been in private practice for 20 years, primarily working with families with infants and young children with a range of needs, including having children with complex neurodevelopmental challenges (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder), with disruptions in the caregiver-child attachment relationship, and those coping with significant adversity (e.g., trauma, loss, parental mental health challenges, family violence, separation and divorce, children residing in out-of-home care). She provides a variety of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally safe assessment and intervention services (including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R).
